<<< ABOUT OUR BOOMS >>>

Each Owens & Sons boomerang is hand-made & hand-decorated,
and each is signed & numbered on the back by the boomerang maker.
Also, in recognition of the boomerang’s connection with the aboriginal people of Australia,
each of our boomerangs has been given a name based on an aboriginal numbering system,
which is written on the back (e.g., the words written on the boom in the photo below translate as
“#14 Boomerang”).

Our boomerangs are crafted in Kentucky & North Carolina.
Most of them are made out of birch wood imported from Finland. This is an “aircraft quality” wood that is more expensive than some other woods used to make boomerangs, but we use it because it is very durable.
It will stand up to a lot of throwing, and a lot of hitting the ground!

Our booms are shaped with a combination of power saws & sanders, as well as a lot of hand filing & sanding. The decoration is done with high quality ink & paints, and the finish is a waterproof polyurethane.

The quality and care that go into our boomerangs ensure that
you and your boom will enjoy
“many happy returns!”
